Karelia

Karelia is an area in Nortern Europe of historical significance for  Finland, Russia, and Sweden. Karelia is one of the most famous Russian territories in international tourism for its unique architectural, cultural and historical sites such as Kizhi and Valaam, and also you can find there best white water rafting in Russia. The region is worth a trip in both summer and winter, when possible activities include riding in a sled behind a dog team and running from the banya to an ice hole and back. Summer hikers can visit the Kivach waterfall or the Demon's Chair plateau.

 

Dombay

Dombay is situated within the Teberda Nature Reserve and is a popular tourist destination. The area attracts people for its skiing and hiking trails and natural beauty of the Caucasus Mountains. The settlement is located at the elevation of 1,630 meters (5,350 ft) above sea level, with its skiing area occupying the slopes of Mount Mussa Achitara, between 1,800 meters (5,900 ft) and 3,200 meters (10,500 ft) above sea level. Dombay-Ulgen, the highest peak of the Dombay area, is 4,046 meters (13,274 ft). Dombay is surrounded with snow-capped mountains and glaciers all year round.

Elbrus

Mountain Elbrus is the highest mountainin Russia and in Europe, and the tenth most prominent peak in the world, the taller west summit is 5,642 metres (18,510 ft). The descent of Elbrus takes about 3–6 hours.

Elbrus stands 20 km (12 mi) north of the main range of the Greater Caucasus and 65 km (40 mi) of the Russian town of Kislovodsk 

Elbrus sits on a moving tectonic area, and has been linked to a fault. A supply of magma lies deep beneath the dormant volcano.
